Whimsy & Wild is all about playful design + reimagining more sophisticated versions of the nostalgic accessories + costumes of 1990s-00s childhood
I was born and raised in Chichester where I completed a BA Hons in Fine Art - focusing mainly on textiles - and I have been living in and around Brighton ever since. I’ve predominantly worked in fashion and textiles including launching my own label Hey Kitsch Kitty and more recently as Head of Production and co-owner at slow fashion label The Emperor’s Old Clothes
I love all things sheer + sparkly! Organza is one of my favourite fabrics to work with. I find that the translucency and ephemeral qualities really inspire a lot of the playfulness in my designs. I love to work with a mix materials; I’m often incorporating beads, gems, sequins + other trinkets with fabrics in my work
I approach designing all the items I create with a sense of child-like wonder. Whilst they are all functional pieces that you can use and wear they all have whimsical flourishes that embrace silliness and play
Every Whimsy & Wild item is handmade in my Sussex home studio with help and advice from my style consultant + muse Peach the chihuahua. Most pieces are made to order in a variety of colours listed where available
