ABOUT US
We run a variety of monthly online craft sessions, sell an eclectic range of craft kits, send out joyful snail mail each month + platform an array of whimsical items from homewares to clothing by independent artists + small brands in our Maker’s Market
We believe in creative practice as a form of resistance against bigotry + fascism. Our work is rooted in an exploration of joy in the everyday and sharing our skills to help keep tangible craft practices and processes alive
So we hope you’ll join us to refill our cups through crafting, community and chasing joy so we can continue to learn, unlearn + show up for each other together
OUR TEAM
LOUISA
Louisa brings her unique aesthetic and vibrant signature colour palette to both her individual craft kit designs, the look + feel of Tiers of Joy and of course to her own independent work which you can find under ‘Whimsy + Wild’ in our Maker’s Market (psst! also check out her previous work as Hey Kitsch Kitty)
Louisa is a very experienced sewing machinist and designer. She brings this experience into the job of converting our previous clothing designs as ‘The Emperor’s Old Clothes’ into accessible ‘Make your own’ sewing kits as well as our craft kit designs + other offerings
She does the majority of our admin + HR as well as other fun jobs like bookkeeping behind the scenes
Louisa is AuDHD + a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. She loves worms, trinkets + Mr Blobby; she hates dark cold days, jazz + last minute changes of plan
CECILY
Cecily brings her eclectic aesthetic and (often) pastel colour palette to both her individual craft kit designs, the look + feel of Tiers of Joy and of course to her own independent work which you can find under ??? in our Maker’s Market
Cecily is a very experienced pattern-cutter and designer. She brings this experience into the job of converting our previous clothing designs as ‘The Emperor’s Old Clothes’ into accessible ‘Make your own’ sewing kits - cutting out all the kit garment pieces - as well as to our craft kit designs + other offerings
She does the majority of our marketing work, website maintenance alongside our amazing web team BrainoidTech + HR as well as other supporting Alice with customer service behind the scenes.
Cecily is AuDHD, she has endometriosis + is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. She loves owls, weeding her garden + nostalgic vintage finds; she hates the heat, salted caramel + loud or repetitive noises
ALICE
Alice brings her narrative aesthetic and signature teal, black + green colour palette to both her individual craft kit designs, the look + feel of Tiers of Joy and of course to her own independent work which you can find under ‘Curious Alice Studio’ in our Maker’s Market
Alice is an experienced sewing machinist and runs our fabric inventory making sure every one-of-a-kind fabric is accounted for and keeping our large deadstock + vintage fabric library filed by size + colour. She brings all this experience into assisting you in picking the right fabrics + designing your ‘Make your own’ sewing clothes kits
She does the majority of our customer service as well as other fun jobs behind the scenes including keeping us organised + on track in her role as Gantt-master General
Alice is undiagnosed neurodivergent + a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. She loves guinea pigs, fantasy fiction + the fancier things in life; she hates the heat, peanut butter + early mornings
Peach
Peach takes her job of looking after the mental health of the team very seriously providing cuddles, entertainment + daily joy to team members as + when they need it She is very well behaved + never touches any of the fabric, kits or garments. Her domain is in her studio bed but you can often find Peach on a lap getting fussed over + having a well deserved snooze
STELLA
Stella takes her job of looking after the mental health of the team very seriously providing cuddles + daily joy to team members as + when they need it (as long as she’s is rewarded with regular strokes + treats)
She is very well behaved + never touches any of the fabric, kits or garments. Her domain is mostly on her studio windowsill but you can often find her on a lap getting fussed over + having a well deserved snooze
